I spend more time than I’d like to admit on The Satorialist. Maybe it’s too many years as a secret Sex and the City watcher, maybe it’s just the amazing photos, who knows. But as the sunshine dwindles here in London I stumled accross photos from the Jazz-Age Dance Party in New York. If only all picnics were this stylish…

Two weeks later and we are still day dreaming about the great times we had at the London Swing Festival! And it’s worth noting that we are all set to go again from May 26 to 30 2011! Get it down in the diary now!
In the meantime take a look at these stunning photos (courtesy of Kim Sheard Photography) of the Saturday night baland marvel at some of the fastest feet in London…

Not a challenge, but a Flickr group run by a girl called Melissa – a HUGE fan and collector of vintage photography. I could get lost in here for hours. In fact…maybe I have. It has some truly amazing and unique vintage photography of dancers, musicians and enterainers and some great retro Swing Graphics. But even better she has included some fabulous portraits of the Black Pearl herself, Josphine Baker. That’s a little shout out to all the gals doing the Josephine routine with Sharon Davis. My personal favourite is the picture below, titled ‘Happy Feet’. Enjoy

So many people turned out for our French themed Swing Pit on Sunday night. The dancefloor was packed with stripey t-shirt, berets and fantastic dancing. A big thank you to Isabelle and Noemie for organising one of the coolest Swing Pits the Vibe bar has seen. If you didn’t make it down then take a look at these great photos by Simone Edwards and see what you missed….

You can see more photos from Ze Pit Francaise and keep up to date with Swing Patrol events by joining our facebook group. See you on a dance floor soon…

We were super excited when the well known Swing band the Jive Aces invited Scott and Tanya to work with them on their upcoming music video. Filming started at 8.00am so it was absolutely freezing but a super experience and the crew from the Jive Aces were absolutely brilliant. It was filmed onto of a roof 50 meters from St. Pauls, in a cool London alley way and on the Millennium bridge. Check out the photos on our Flickr page. Stay tuned for a link to the video when it’s done.
